I highly recommend the low tide tour. The guide brought us all the way down to the water and provided great insight into the regions geography and history.

This would be my number 1 recommended activity for anyone visiting Nova Scotia – walking on the ocean floor at low tide, in the red clay and seeing the spectacular flowerpot island was like nothing I’ve ever experienced before. A beautiful and unique experience for sure!

Our guide for the hour-long ocean floor tour was Anita from Burntcoat Head Park and she was fantastic! Low tide here at the Bay of Fundy was a bucket-list experience for me. We came back 6 hours later to see it at high tide. In between we went to see the tidal bore at the interpretive center on the Shubenacadie River in South Maitland – WOW that was spectacular too! A must-see experience and a gorgeous day too!
